Quanta Capital Junior Tour of Ireland 2026
The 2026 Quanta Capital Junior Tour will get underway on the 7th July and over the course of six road stages cover 559km in County Clare in the west of Ireland.
Stages 1, 2, 4, and 6 remain unchanged from previous editions. Stage 3 is a new stage starting from Ennis and racing for 102.4km to the East Clare village of Whitegate while Stage 5 is also a new stage following the Burren stage, the race will return back into the Burren and traverse back towards Ennis to finish on the banks of Ballyallia Lake on the outskirts of the town.
Background of The Junior Tour of Ireland
The Junior Tour of Ireland is one of the most prestigious junior stage races in international cycling, bringing together elite young riders from Ireland and across the world to compete on the roads of Clare and the west of Ireland.
For over four decades, the race has played a vital role in the development of future professional cyclists, providing a platform for emerging talent to test themselves across demanding stages, climbs, time trials and circuit races.
Organised by volunteers and supported by local communities, clubs, sponsors and Cycling Ireland, the Junior Tour has become a cornerstone of Irish cycling and a proven pathway to the professional ranks.
Since its foundation in 1981, the Junior Tour of Ireland has welcomed many riders who would go on to successful international and professional careers. The race has built a reputation for challenging routes, passionate roadside support and highly competitive racing, becoming recognised as one of the key junior stage races in Europe.
