Quanta Capital Junior Tour of Ireland 2026 – Stage 2
Stage 2
Wednesday 8th July 2026
West Clare
Stage 2 of the Quanta Capital Junior Tour of Ireland takes the riders on a journey through the spectacular landscapes of West Clare, culminating with a dramatic finish on the seafront in Kilkee.
The opening kilometres provide opportunities for the riders to establish an early rhythm before the race heads towards the Shannon Estuary, where long exposed roads can leave riders vulnerable to crosswinds. The route continues through the heart of West Clare, skirting the estuary and approaching Kilrush before turning towards the Atlantic coastline.
While Stage 2 has often favoured strong sprinters, the combination of coastal exposure, changing winds and attacking terrain means opportunists and small breakaway groups can also succeed. Riders will need to remain alert throughout the day, as the race can change dramatically once it reaches the Atlantic coast.
